The photograph, donated to the Archives in 1966, shows the 116th Battalion returning to Oshawa from Niagara Camp. Circa 1916.

The 116th Battalion was recruited and fostered in the County of Ontario. On July 23, 1916 the Battalion boarded the H.M.T. “Olympic” and set sail from Halifax for England and war.
