Pickering Public Library

The main focus of the collection is the present City of Pickering and the former Township of Pickering in particular, but also encompasses materials from the former county of Ontario in general.

The collection consists of documents related to the Town and Township of Pickering as well as the Pickering Airport Papers.  The Local History Collection also maintains records such as marriage and death notices, cemetery records, census indexes, newspaper clippings and oral histories.  We also maintain a collection of hardbound and paperback books, maps and photographs related to the history of Pickering.

Microfilm of Pickering census and Pickering news is also available for researchers.

How the collection be Accessed?

Access to original materials in our Local History collection is by appointment only. However, the majority of our Local History collection has been digitized and is conveniently available at:
